A recent New York Times op-ed piece had some interesting perspectives on divorcing after a long marriage. What was also interesting to me is the backlash of comments that the times printed on June 12 from people who objected to this author’s attempt to explain why a long-term marriage (like the Gore’s, which is so much in the news these days) would end.
Sorry I couldn’t find a link to to the follow-up letters, but let’s just say that not everyone appreciated author Deidre Bair’s feeling that the end of a long-term marriage like the Gore’s might be for good reason, and need not be considered a failure.
